Fable: The Tale of Vessel
“Vessel is the very first amulet I created for Relic & Fable. I love the tactile form & comforting weight of the amphora. Every time I wear mine I am reminded of the memory it holds and it brings a little lightness to my heart.”
Long ago, in a bustling city on the Eastern shore, there lived a humble potter named Elias. He was young but uncommonly skilled, and he spent his days carefully crafting small, everyday objects for local villagers and travellers. His wares were simple, but unlike many of the other potters in the city, he believed that what a vessel held was far more meaningful than its form.
One day, a grief-stricken wanderer came to the city, bearing only the clothes on his back and an empty heart. He had an unusual request, and had been turned away by the other craftsmen in the city who did not deem it worth their time. Finally, he came to Elias’ humble workshop and asked him to craft a vessel to hold a memory; one that he could not bear to lose.
Elias gladly accepted the request, and laboured through the night, throwing a small, plain amphora from the clay of a long silent riverbed. When the vessel was finished, he presented it to the wanderer and bid him fill it not with a memory of loss, but with one of joy. The wanderer held it to his chest, pouring into it his most precious memory - one of shared laughter and dappled sunlight. When he drank from the amphora, he was filled with peace and warmth, and no matter how much he drank, the liquid within never depleted.
It is said that when this vessel is worn, it grants the wearer joy and peace, allowing them to find comfort not in what they have lost, but in what they have truly held.
